Interior Design

The bill for the house included a number of consultancy hours with an interior designer. Hence, we met M a r i a  W h y t e from W h y t e + L i l j a who was mentioned in an earlier post.

Initially we met at their office downtown. With the house drawing on a table, we went through the details, how we intend to make use of the house and ideas about the interior we had so far.

Two or three weeks later, just prior to visiting the kitchen salesman, we returned to their off and Maria went through her proposal. She also showed us a panel she had made:

This panel is a montage of materials and colors suggested to be used. This is what it looks like, but the colors are far from perfect. We do not intend to reveal how and where the material and the colors will be used. Anyhow, you can see some floor and wallpaper examples on the panel.

Following the panel was a document that details the material on the panel. We intend to follow M a r i a 's suggestions almost without exceptions.

M a r i a also assisted us with colors and materials for the kitchen and we are very pleased with her effort.

I had never heard the Swedish word for panel ("pannå"). The pronounciation of pannå resemples a lot to the pronounciation of the pastis Pernod and I asked her if pannå was spelt the same way as Pernod and gave M a r i a  a good laugh.
