Complicated Filling
Report from March 26.
Today we had a visit by two excavators:
The excavators distribute filling gravel to the northern and western parts of the lot. Now when the house and garage foundations are in place, there is no longer room for larger machines. That's why the general contractor has borrowed a smaller excavator capable of getting through to more distant spots.
Here the small excavator is filling "damp carrying" material (coarser and finer gravel) at the north façade's western corner. The western façade south of the kitchen will have no filling. Instead there will be an outdoor room under the terrace for general storage of less important and less valuable things. I'll return to this room in a later post.
Here the large Japanese excavator (being subject to retirement soon) is bringing up a bucket-full of gravel from the courtyard level. While rotating, the back of it is millimeters from the east façade.
