From Destruction to Construction

The week before our sports holidays we could finally notice that the construction effort had started.

I commence with a picture from February 19:

Among other things you see the excavator on its way down in a self-made slope. Note the tilting angle and the precuation by having the bucket close to the surface in case the excavator would overturn.

To the left and in the north you see the plateau of the main house and to the right you see two heaps of gruel at the level of the garage, about a meter below the level of the basement of the house.

Another picture from the same spot, but six days later:

Here, a lot of things have happened. The garage has got a plane surface of shingle and a frame for the nextcoming foundation on top of it. Within the frame, cabling, insulation and sewage are installed. You also see the house of the eastern neighbor. This day we had exceptionally good weather, but generally we've been very lucky with the weather conditions, as we hardly have had any days of snow and freezing degrees. These facts have facilitated the work quite a lot.

Here you see a smooth tool that chops reinforcement bars. Not for kids to play around with! The picture was shot at the south-east corner of the garage. Presently, I can't tell you the use of those pre-installed hoses.

Finally a picture of one of the excavator's last achievements:

Here, B e n n y, the excavator driver, has established some heaps of gruel of different qualities for future use, when the house is on site but the excavator has left. Smart, isn't it?
