The Long Wall

Another week has passed and quite a few things have happened:

A long wall has been built. This wall is partly the north wall of the garage and partly a retaining wall against the house supporting the difference in levels between the garage and basement levels. In the foreground, you also see a cast garage foundation and two red hoses to convey heating water to and from the garage.

More of the wall on this pic:

Here you see my wife on a plane bedding of shingle. Under the shingle bedding among other things there is a drainage hose with ends in north-west and in south-east for possible future use. In case radon (a radioactive gas) evaporating from the surrounding environment is detected inside the basement, the hose could help diverting the gases by installing a fan in one of the ends. If you enlarge the picture (by double-clicking on it), you may see the south-east end of it just behind the green package in the middle of the picture or somewhat to the left.

More shingle bedding:

Here you see the same wife and some hoses to and from the garage. The yellow hoses should probably contain electrical wiring to and from the garage. To the left you see reinforcement grids to become parts of the house's foundation.
