The Long Arm

Right now refill is ongoing:

It is the areas outside the garage and house foundation walls that are being filled with draining gravel. Since the buildings now are established the gruel is lifted to its target by a long-armed crane. This is a time-consuming task as the bucket only carries a limited amount of gruel. Luckily, the arm and the bucket can be remotely controlled, that is, the crane operator does not have to stand beside the truck. You may see a glimpse of him behind the bucket.

Here you see the crane operator clearly (but far away) and that the bricklaying of the house's basement walls is almost complete. The upper layer is made of thinner bricks and inside these bricks, the system of beams will be placed. For the first time you also see how the entrance will turn out.

Here you see how tight the working area is. There are two trucks on the lot. One is running the crane and the other one is delivering more gravel. In the foreground you see an insulation carpet to be located between insulating cellular plastic and the draining masses outside the walls. Here are also the basement walls at their full height, about 20 cm (.7 ft) above the garage walls. Do you notice that the contreforts now are cast and complete?

Finally, here's a pic with re-filling of draining gravel outside the west garage gable. On top of this gravel, the steps from the carport up to the terrace will be placed along the garage walls.
